New Ovid Databases Available

Journals@Ovid is a database of the complete full text, graphics, and tables of contents of subscribed journals. This database will provide more timely access to important journals in full text, while also providing full text links from MEDLINE.

Evidence-Based Medicine Reviews (EBMR) is a database designed for use by clinicians, researchers, and students. Reflecting the current practice in medicine to base clinical decisions on accumulated evidence from the primary medical literature, Evidence Based Medicine Reviews provides content from two premier sources (which will be listed on the Ovid database menu): "Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews," published by Update Software for the Cochrane Collaboration, an international organization dedicated to applying evidence-based-medicine principles to the review of important clinical topics, and "Best Evidence," a database containing the ACP Journal Club (a publication of the American College of Physicians) and Evidence Based Medicine (a joint publication of the ACP and British Medical Journal Group). Features will include links from MEDLINE to Evidence Based Medicine Reviews and links from Evidence Based Medicine Reviews to Ovid's collection of full text journal articles.

SPORTDiscus covers serial and monographic literature in the areas recreation, exercise physiology, sports medicine, coaching, physical fitness, training, conditioning, and the psychology, history and sociology of sport. Seventy percent of the database consists of periodical articles. This is an excellent resource for Physical Therapists, Sports Medicine Specialists, Orthopedists, Human Kineticists and anyone studying general human physiology.

DUMCL Website Redesigned!

You've probably noticed by now that we've released the latest version of the DUMCL Website! Featured in this, the third version of our site, is a more refined organization, cleaner graphics, and more direct links to the information, services, and resources you need to do your work. All of these features contribute to easier navigation of our entire site.

We hope that you will find our latest Web incarnation easy to use and helpful. If you have comments, please submit them to the Library's co-Webmasters, Scott Garrison and Beverly Murphy. Thank you for visiting DUMCL's Website, and check back often to see what we'll be adding to the site over the next several months.

If you would like information on how we built this latest version of the Library's Website, be sure to read the net.work column in the June, 1998 issue of the Library Newsletter.
