Request for Access: Evenings & Weekends

The Library now requires ID card access after 6 pm, Monday - Friday and on weekends (Saturday: 12 noon - 8 pm; Sunday: 12 noon - 12 midnight).

Access is primarily restricted to faculty and students on the Duke Medicine campus, and Duke University Hospital clinical staff (i.e. nurses, pharmacists, RT, OT, PT, etc.). Most Duke Medicine ID badges provide access. If you are in this user group and find that your ID card does not provide access, please complete the form below.

Other Duke University faculty and staff may also access the Library during restricted hours by showing a University ID card to the Security Guard.

Exceptions will be made for other Duke employees who need to use the Library on evenings and weekends for educational and research purposes, but NOT for personal or recreational use, such as using computers for email or searching entertainment, sports, or shopping Websites. Please submit the form below to request access.

We will respond to your request within 2 business days.

The Library will NOT be available to the general public on evenings and weekends. Special requests may be granted on a case by case basis.

Students and faculty from TRLN institutions (UNC, NCSU, and NCCU) must show the Security Guard a current TRLN University ID card.
