DUMC faculty, staff, and students can use the Multimedia Studio for developing DUMC-related projects. |
How do I obtain access to the Multimedia Studio?
In order to use the Multimedia Studio, you will need to read and agree to follow the Multimedia Studio Policies & Procedures (.pdf). This document can be downloaded or obtained from the Library Service Desk. You will need to sign and return it to the Library Service Desk. Finally, your name will be added to the list of approved users. After you become an approved user, you will be able to obtain the key to the Multimedia Studio by presenting your Duke ID. |
How do I learn to use the equipment and software?
The Multimedia Studio is a self-service facility. Users have several options for learning how to use the equipment and software:
- The Studio Guide (black notebook in Rm 321) contains step-by-step
instructions for performing the most common functions
- The guide or index found from the Help menu in each program can be consulted
- User manuals (.pdf) are available for most of the software applications
- Online help guides can be accessed from the "Guides & Tutorials" tab

What does .pdf mean?
Portable Document Format (PDF) is a type of computer file. Several documents on the Multimedia Studio Web pages are available in PDF format. PDFs are read using the Adobe® Reader® software. A free version of the Reader® can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
