The Multimedia Studio (room 104J) is available to all Duke students, staff, and faculty who are developing Duke University Medical Center (DUMC) - related materials. |

Before using the Multimedia Studio, everyone must read and agree to follow these policies and procedures. Your name will be added to the list of approved users once you have completed this form (.pdf). |

The Studio is a self-service facility. Assistance is
provided in the form of printed and Web resource guides,
Web tutorials, and
user manuals (.pdf). All of these items are available for access in the
Multimedia Studio. |

The Multimedia Studio is available during library hours. |
|
Upon each use, approved users must present a DUMC or Duke identification badge before receiving the key to the Multimedia Studio. The key can only be obtained from and returned to staff at the Library Service Desk. Please return the key to the Library Service Desk before the Library closes. |

The Multimedia Studio must be locked whenever it is not occupied. Be sure to keep the key with you whenever you leave the room. |
| Any individual who uses the Multimedia Studio is responsible for the condition of the equipment and software during the time that he/she possesses the key. |
| Approved users may access the Studio on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Studio may only be used or reserved for up to three hours. After the three hour time period, a user may continue to use the room until someone else needs it. Call 660-1100 or visit the Library Service Desk to schedule an appointment. |

All users must adhere to appropriate computer and networking use policies established by Duke University. |

All users must comply with copyright laws when creating materials. |
|
Food and drink are not allowed in the Multimedia Studio. |
|
Please do not move, rename, install, copy, or remove any files on the hard drive of the computer. Leave all settings as they were when you began using the equipment. |
| Do not disconnect the LAN connection for the computer. Unauthorized use of network connections is a violation of DUMC policy. |
| Files may be saved to the desktop or hard drive temporarily while you are working. For permanent storage, you should either save files to a diskette, burn them to a CD-ROM, or FTP them to an account. Users should bring a diskette or writeable CD-ROM with them, or purchase one from the Library Service Desk. The Library cannot be responsible for any lost or damaged files. |
