  • EBM Course for MS3
    Evidence-Based Medicine is a one-credit elective course offered to 3rd year Medical Students. It is designed to provide students with the opportunity to learn about the practice of evidence based medicine (EBM), including formulating focused questions, acquiring relevant studies, appraising the quality of the study and applying the results to patient care. Students will meet with faculty members during the six sessions, in which the basics of EBM will be discussed within a case-based curriculum.

  • General Medicine - Morning Report: Search Strategies for Finding the Best Evidence
    This Duke site provides handouts to support the Morning Report for General Medicine and Pediatrics. The purpose of this project is to provide a model for the MEDLINE search process, to teach effective searching skills, and to provide guided practice for the residents. This project focuses on question building and searching skills.

  • Research Centers: EPC - Evidence-based Practice Center
    In 1997, the Duke Center for Clinical Health Policy Research (CCHPR), along with 12 other research centers in North America, were designated as EPCs by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. The EPCs have completed major evidence reports on cervical cytology and COPD. Currently, they are completing a report on pulmonary disease following spinal cord injury, and have recently begun one on uterine fibroids.
