The Academic Center for Evidence-Based Practice (ACE) was established as a center of excellence for The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in January 2000. The purpose of this Center is to advance cutting edge, state-of-the-art evidence-based practice, research, and education within an interdisciplinary context. This database provides authoritative coverage of the literature related to nursing and allied health from 1983 to the present. Indexing is provided for healthcare books (including the publications of the American Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing), nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of professional practice, educational software, and audiovisual materials, along with selected journals in the areas of consumer health, biomedicine, and health sciences librarianship.
