The growing use of PDA's (personal digital assistants) in the healthcare field as physicians, students, and clinical staff incorporate them into the patient care workflow has prompted the library to create this subject guide.
The Medical Center Library offers assistance to DUMC patrons in getting started
using PDAs. We have selected resources and organized them into the following categories:
- Getting Started: PDA terminology, guidance on choosing a PDA, and information on how to put your PDA to use.
- Advanced Functions: Learn how to beam business cards, customize your PDA, and project information for presentations.
- Software--Medicine: Recommended list of software to download for Palm or Pocket PC.
- Software--Specialties: Software categorized by Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Psychiatry.
- Installing Software: Installation instructions for your Palm or Pocket PC software.
- Training: Contact information if you have questions or need some basic PDA help.
- Wireless Access: Set up wireless access and discover the resources that work over wireless connections.
- Tech Support: Get technical support within the Duke community and find links to more support pages.
