Using CINAHL for Evidence-based/Research-based Practice: Other Subject Headings

CINAHL includes a number of subject headings related to evidence- or research-based professional practice, including terms for specific disciplines. For example, under the broad heading Professional Practice, Evidence-Based there is the narrower term Nursing Practice, Evidence-Based, and below that the term Nursing Practice, Research-Based. Using these headings as searching terms will help you locate articles that talk about the concept of evidence or research-based practice (its importance, applications, implementation, etc.). These terms will not retrieve all the studies and research findings that constitute the evidence base, however.
