Using CINAHL for Evidence-based/Research-based Practice: Other Subject Headings

CINAHL also includes a number of subject headings related to evidence- or research-based professional practice, including terms for specific disciplines. For example, under the broad heading "Professional Practice, Evidence-Based" there is the narrower term "Nursing Practice, Evidence-Based," and below that the term "Nursing Practice, Research-Based." Using these headings as searching terms will help you locate articles that talk about the concept of evidence or research-based practice (its importance, applications, implementation, etc.). Do not use these terms to locate the evidence, studies, or research findings themselves, however.
