EBM in Geriatrics Course - 2011
First year fellows in geriatric medicine and geriatric pharmacy residents will participate in a course of instruction on the practice of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM). The primary text for the course will be The Users’ Guide to the Medical Literature, 2nd edition as available online at JAMAevidence.com. The course will combine the use of existing online didactic materials and in-person class sessions.

The introductory course will be divided into 9 weekly sessions on Tuesdays from 8:00am to 9:30am beginning on October 18th. Class location is the GRECC Conference Room (C3012) at the VA.
(EXCEPTION: Searching class will be held in the Duke Medical Center Library room 104 from 8:00am to 9:00am.

In preparation for each session, learners will access the class website, EBM in Geriatrics, from the Duke Medical Center Library’s website and use learning aids available there. Participants will be asked to read the corresponding chapter from the Straus text. This should take no more that 1 hour.
