Part 2: Importing Citations

After opening EndNote, there will be three choices, Create a new EndNote library, See what's new in EndNote X1, and Open an existing EndNote library (library is EndNote's term for "database").   Libraries have the extension .enl. To open an existing library, click the drop down arrow, highlight the name of the library, then click OK. You may also use the browse button to locate a library not listed in the drop down menu and then click the Open button.

For this exercise, a new library will be created to hold the previously saved citations. Click "Create a new EndNote library" in the "Get started with EndNote X1" window.
