Can't see the PubMed History?

The search history will be lost after eight hours of inactivity. If this is not the problem, then you most likely have a cookie handling problem. To fix this, choose your browser type and read on:

Internet Explorer (IE)
  1. Go to the Tools Menu at the top of the page.
  2. Click on Internet Options.
  3. Select the Privacy tab at the top of the box.
  4. Click on the Advanced button.
  5. Make sure "Override automatic cookie handling" is checked.
  6. Make sure Accept is chosen for both first-party and third-party cookies.
  7. Click OK twice.
Mozilla Firefox
  1. Go to the Tools Menu at the top of the page.
  2. Click on Options.
  3. Select the Privacy tab at the top of the box.
  4. Click on the Advanced button.
  5. Make sure "Accept cookies from sites" is checked.
  6. Make sure Accept is chosen for both first-party and third-party cookies.
  7. Click OK.

Can't See the Search Tip Popup?

Internet Explorer (IE)
  1. Go to the Tools Menu at the top of the page.
  2. Click on Internet Options.
  3. Select the Privacy tab at the top of the box.
  4. Make sure "Block popups" is not checked at the bottom of this menu.
  5. Click OK.
Mozilla Firefox
  1. Go to the Tools Menu at the top of the page.
  2. Click on Options.
  3. Select the Content tab at the top of the box.
  4. Make sure "Block pop-up windows" is not checked.
  5. Click OK.

Having Javascript Problems?

Internet Explorer (IE)

To enable JavaScript in Internet Explorer 5.x or 6.x see: http://gsaauctions.gov/brow_details/IE6instr.htm

Mozilla Firefox
  1. Go to the Tools Menu at the top of the page.
  2. Click on Options.
  3. Select the Content tab at the top of the box.
  4. Make sure "Enable Javascript" is checked.
  5. Click OK.

PubMed Set Numbers

Don't worry if your search set numbers differ from the tutorial's example. Just use the set numbers you have that correspond to the term you need to search.


Having Problems Reading the Tutorial?

If the tutorial text runs off the screen, make sure your browser window is maximized. Use the bar separating the tutorial window and the PubMed window to pull the tutorial window down a bit. If you continue to have problems you may need to complete the tutorial on a different computer with a larger screen size or higher resolution.
